The Climate Finance Hub’s Training and Certification Program is designed to equip financial institutions, MSMEs, and technical service providers with critical skills to navigate the evolving climate finance landscape. 

Our training program offers three levels of certification, allowing participants to build their knowledge step-by-step. Structured across Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced levels, the program offers specialized training modules to build progressive expertise in climate finance. Empowering participants to develop and finance climate-smart solutions that drive sustainable development in Ghana and beyond.

Basic Level Core Modules

The Basic Level introduces fundamental concepts to participants new to climate finance. Modules cover:

1. Basics of Climate Change
   An overview of climate change, its causes, and impacts on global and local scales.

2. Climate Change and MSMEs
   Explore the relationship between climate change and MSMEs, focusing on how environmental changes affect small businesses and their growth.

3. Climate Change and Investment Opportunities for MSMEs
   Identify and assess investment opportunities available to climate-smart MSMEs, with insights into sustainable growth avenues.

Cost: Free of charge for all participants.

Intermediate Level Core Modules

In the Intermediate Level, participants delve into risk assessment and management strategies to effectively address climate-related financial risks:

1. Climate Investment Risks Assessment
   Learn to identify and evaluate risks associated with climate investments to ensure sustainable financial decisions.

2. Environmental and Social Risks
   Understand environmental and social factors impacting climate investments, focusing on sustainable, socially responsible practices.

3. Climate Risks Insurance for MSMEs
   Discover tailored insurance solutions for MSMEs, designed to protect against climate-related risks and ensure business resilience.

Cost: GHC 1,000 (includes both Intermediate and Advanced modules).

Advanced Level Core Modules

The Advanced Level equips participants with expert knowledge in financing and operational assessment for climate-smart businesses:

1. Climate Change Financing for MSMEs
   Explore financing options and strategies specifically for MSMEs in the climate sector, focusing on accessible funding avenues.

2. Carbon Emission Trading
   Gain insight into carbon markets and trading mechanisms, with practical steps to participate in carbon emission trading as a climate-smart enterprise.

3. Appraisal and Assessment of Climate-Smart Enterprises
   Master techniques for evaluating the sustainability and profitability of climate-smart businesses, crucial for effective investment decisions.

Each level is designed to provide participants with actionable skills and the confidence to engage in climate finance effectively. Additional e-learning resources and further courses from external partners, like Atingi e-learning, are available for those interested in expanding their knowledge even further.

Courses are available online and accessible through laptops and mobile devices, allowing participants across Ghana, including those in remote areas, to benefit from high-quality training. Self-paced modules enable learners to balance study with work commitments, while interactive resources enhance engagement.
